How much does a property valuation cost?

Most Estate Agents offer property valuations free of charge.  This gives both parties a chance to meet face to face in the hope they can work together as a team to achieve an end result of selling your home at the best possible price.

During or after the initial valuation, the Estate Agent should provide you with a valuation figure of what they feel can be realistically achieved in the present market.

What makes up the total cost for selling?

The cost is made up of Estate Agent fees, Surveyor fees & Solicitor fees, including government charges.

If you are intending purchasing another property, then you will also have to pay conveyancing fees for that since it will be a separate transaction and may not happen at the same time.

It is worth noting that fees for selling vary from one Estate Agent to another, so make sure you know what you are paying for in advance and give serious consideration as to whether you can afford to sell at this particular point in time.

Although finance is a major factor, the level of service from your Estate Agent & Solicitor is equally as important.  You have to be satisfied that what you are going to be charged reflects an uncompromised level of service.
